Childrens' Worship: St John's UMC in Springfield, VA will hire a person ASAP to plan and conduct a weekly worship experience for children age four (4) years through (3rd) grade. Worship will include prayer, music, and an age-appropriate scriptural-based lesson/message. Creative use of drama, crafts, or other activity is encouraged to enhance learning. The position is part-time requiring three (3) hours weekly. Labor is evenly divided between preparing and conducting the Sunday morning worship. Compensation is paid at the hourly rate of $15.00. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old. Demonstrated experience in working with children, preferably in a formal environment (school, church, corporate daycare, etc.), is required. An Australian Christian music praise and worship group from Sydney, Australia will have their US tour concert in Washington DC at Capital One Arena on November 21st at 7pm. Group tickets are available. Sign up on the flyer in Donaldson Hall or talk with Kitty Y.
The OCC display and boxes are located in the Narthex. Please take as many boxes as you would like to fill. St. John's is no longer a collection center so filled boxes will need to be taken to a local Chick-Fil-A, Calvary Road Baptist Church, Burke Community Church, or Fairfax Circle Church anytime between November 18th and 25th.
Keep the canned tomatoes coming! Please leave your donations in the Christian Education Office and they will be delivered to Rising Hope.

There will be a church work day on Saurday, December 7th to clean up church property. Continental breakfast will be served at 8:30am and the clean up will run from 9am to noon. Bring your gloves, saws, rakes and leaf blowers.
